though i agree that some teenagers need to begin developing things for themselves rather than relying on their parents or society, it was told in a harsh manner. some teenagers are put under a ridiculous amount of stress for simply being asked what they're going to do with their life and that needs to be accounted for in this situation. sometimes, they also need a helping a hand - a small push in the right direction. yes, the people telling us to grow up were once teenagers too, but everyday new situations arise that didn't apply to them back then.
